| Food Wine and Nightlife Dinner Nairobi has many restaurants offering a wide variety of cuisine, but the most famous is probably Carnivore. The restaurant is famous for its succulent steaks and barbecue dishes, including game meat, and is therefore dubbed "the meat eaters" paradise. The meat is roasted on traditional Maasai swords (skewers) over a huge charcoal pit which dominates the entrance of the restaurant. The waiters serve the customers as they carry around these swords, carving the meat onto sizzling cast iron plates. The restaurant also offers a vegetarian menu with a wide range of salads and vegetables, along with exotic sauces. Follow this with a visit to The Langata Giraffe Centre where you can feed the endangered Rothschild's giraffes. Drive towards Ngong Hills by passing the Ngong village to the Karen Blixen Museum of the "Out of Africa" fame. The Karen Blixen Museum opened in May 1991. It occupies the house in which Karen Blixen was born, Rungstedlund, and to which she returned in 1931 following 17 years as a farmer in Africa. She lived at Rungstedlund until her death in 1962 and it was here that she wrote all her internationally renowned stories. Later proceed to The Langata Giraffe Centre to view and feed the famous Rothschild's giraffe from a specially constructed viewing platform. These are an endangered species in Kenya.
